About this student scheme
Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojana is run by the Women Welfare Department of Uttar Pradesh for children who lost one or both parents to COVID-19 from March 2020 onwards. The scheme combines income support with long-term care: ₹4,000 a month financial assistance routed to the guardian's account, free residential schooling in Atal Avasiya Vidyalayas, free education up to graduation for girls, a tablet or laptop for students in Class 9 and above, and ₹1.01 lakh towards a girl's marriage. Applications are accepted online at mksy.up.gov.in or offline through the District Probation Office, and a district-level task force verifies each case before the monthly amount is sent by Direct Benefit Transfer. Roughly 4,500 orphaned children across UP are supported under the scheme.
