What is Jal Jeevan Mission UP?
UP Jal Jeevan Mission is the state implementation of the Central Jal Jeevan Mission that aims to provide a free Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) to every rural household in Uttar Pradesh. Out of 2.64 crore targeted rural households, over 1.8 crore connections have been provided at 55 LPCD (litres per capita per day). Water sources include groundwater, canal, and surface water depending on the area.
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive Free functional household tap connection (FHTC); 55 LPCD potable water supply; water quality testing. The scheme was launched in 2019 and is implemented by the Government of Uttar Pradesh.
