Pashu Bima Yojana UP

About this farmer scheme

UP Kamadhenu Pashu Bima Yojana provides livestock insurance to UP farmers for cattle and buffalo against death due to accident or disease. Coverage is ₹40,000 per cow, ₹50,000 per buffalo, and up to ₹80,000 for high-yield exotic breeds. BPL farmers pay only 50% of the insurance premium, while other farmers pay the full premium. Applications are processed through the Animal Husbandry Department or nearest Pashu Chikitsalay.

Which farmers qualify

• ✓ UP domicile certificate required
• ✓ Farmer owning cattle (cow/buffalo) — any category
• ✓ Animal must be healthy at time of insurance (veterinary health certificate required)
• ✓ Age of animal: 2-10 years for cattle insurance eligibility
• ✓ BPL farmers get 50% premium subsidy
• ✓ Cattle must be ear-tagged for identification

Registration walkthrough

1. 1नजदीकी सरकारी पशु चिकित्सालय (Pashu Chikitsalay) जाएं या animalhusb.upsdc.gov.in खोलें।
2. 2पशु चिकित्सक से पशु का health certificate और age certificate बनवाएं।
3. 3पशु का ear tagging करवाएं (identification के लिए अनिवार्य)।
4. 4Pashu Bima application form भरें — pashupalan details, animal type, coverage amount।
5. 5Aadhaar, bank passbook, Khatoni और BPL card (यदि applicable) attach करें।
6. 6Premium amount जमा करें (BPL: 50% subsidy के बाद शेष राशि)।
7. 7Insurance certificate / policy document प्राप्त करें और सुरक्षित रखें।
8. 8पशु की मृत्यु की स्थिति में 24 घंटे के भीतर Pashu Chikitsalay और insurance company को सूचित करें।
