About Schemes In India — Your Complete Government Yojana Guide
Schemes In India (schemesinindia.in) is a free, independent information portal that helps Indian citizens find and understand every government scheme, yojana, and welfare programme available to them — whether from the central government or their state government. We cover 1,000+ schemes across agriculture, housing, health, education, women welfare, employment, and financial inclusion.
Every year, thousands of crores in government benefits go unclaimed simply because eligible citizens do not know a scheme exists, do not understand the eligibility criteria, or do not know how to apply. Our mission is to bridge that gap. We publish detailed, plain-language guides that explain every scheme's eligibility, required documents, step-by-step application process, and official helpline numbers — in both English and Hindi (and other regional languages where applicable).
Our editorial team monitors official sources daily — the Press Information Bureau (PIB), MyGov.in, ministry press releases, and official government portals — to ensure every scheme page carries accurate, up-to-date information. Each page displays a "Last Verified" date so you always know how recent the information is. If you find an error, you can report it at [email protected] and we will correct it within 24 hours.
This website is not affiliated with any government body. We are an independent platform — our only goal is to make government scheme information accessible to every Indian citizen. Application on official government portals is always free; we do not charge any fees and will never ask for your Aadhaar, bank account, or personal details.
How We Verify Scheme Information
Common questions about where our information comes from and how current it is.
How do you verify the scheme information on this site?
Before writing any scheme page we collect information from at least three primary sources: the official scheme portal, the relevant ministry's website, and the scheme's operational guidelines or launch notification. Every eligibility rule, benefit amount and deadline must be traceable to an official document, and we test every government link to confirm it resolves to a genuine government domain. We do not rely on other scheme-aggregator websites.

How often is each scheme page updated?
Flagship schemes such as PM Kisan, Ayushman Bharat and PMAY are re-verified every 30 days. State chief-minister schemes are re-verified every 30 to 45 days, and standard schemes every 60 to 90 days. If a reader reports a correction or a ministry announces a change, we re-verify that page within 24 to 48 hours.

What does the "Last Updated" date on a scheme page mean?
It is the date we last re-checked that page against its official sources — not the date the file was edited or a batch timestamp applied across the site. If the date says a scheme was verified in a given month, a person read the official notification again in that month.
Is Schemes In India an official government website?
No. Schemes In India is an independent information portal and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any government body, ministry or department. We explain government schemes in plain language and link you to the official portal to apply. Always complete your actual application on the official government website.

Do I have to pay anything to apply for a government scheme?
No. Applying for a government scheme on an official portal is free. We never charge a fee, and we will never ask for your Aadhaar number, bank account details or OTP. Treat any person or website demanding a processing fee to apply on your behalf as fraudulent.

I found an error on a scheme page. How do I report it?
Write to us through the contact page with the page address and what looks wrong. We check reader corrections against the official source and, where the correction is right, update the page within 24 hours and move its verification date forward.
