J&K Umeed (Undertaking Means of Enabling & Economic Development) is Jammu & Kashmir's state rural livelihoods mission that goes beyond Tejaswini revolving funds — providing comprehensive livelihood support to rural women through Self Help Groups (SHGs), Community Based Organizations (CBOs), and Village Organizations (VOs). Umeed provides: (1) SHG formation + JKRLM Revolving Fund ₹10,000-₹15,000; (2) Community Investment Fund (CIF) ₹25,000-₹50,000 per SHG group for micro-enterprise; (3) Bank credit linkage ₹1-3 lakh at 7%; (4) Skill training in handicrafts (Pashmina, Kashmiri carpet, Dogri craft, papier-maché); (5) Market linkage at J&K government melas and online ONDC platform. J&K Back to Village (B2V) Programme 2026 — Government Officers at Village Level for Grievances & Scheme Access
J&K 'Back to Village' (B2V) Programme is Jammu & Kashmir's innovative governance initiative where senior government officers (BDOs, District Officers) camp at village panchayat level for 2-3 days — meeting citizens directly, registering grievances on spot, enrolling beneficiaries for all government schemes, and building Jan Aushadhi stores, anganwadis, and public infrastructure. Implemented by the Ministry of MSME with a ₹13,000 crore budget over 5 years (FY2023-24 to FY2027-28). PM Awas Yojana 2026 — Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin & Urban Subsidy
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), launched in 2016, is India's largest housing programme providing financial assistance to build pucca houses for economically weaker sections. Under PMAY-Gramin (rural), eligible BPL families receive ₹1.20 lakh in plain areas and ₹1.30 lakh in hilly or north-eastern states paid directly through DBT. PM-JAY is the world's largest government-funded health insurance scheme, covering 55 crore+ people from the bottom 40% of India's population as per the SECC 2011 database. The scheme covers 1,949 medical procedures including surgeries, chemotherapy, kidney dialysis, neonatal care, and mental health treatment — at no cost to the beneficiary.
