What is HP Old Age Pension?
Himachal Pradesh's social welfare pension for senior citizens combines the central Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme (IGNOAPS) with HP's state top-up, providing ₹750-₹1,500/month to elderly residents of HP aged 60 years and above from BPL/low-income families. HP state adds ₹1,000-₹1,200/month over and above the central ₹200-₹500. Total: ₹1,500/month for age 60-79 (BPL); ₹1,500/month for age 80+ (all seniors in HP regardless of income — enhanced rate). Additionally, HP provides universal pension to all seniors aged 70+ in HP regardless of income under 'Sashakt Himachal' initiative. Apply via Seva Sindhu / Social Welfare Department HP.
