What is HP HimCare Scheme?
HimCare (Himachal Pradesh Health Care Scheme) is Himachal Pradesh's state health insurance scheme that provides ₹5 lakh cashless hospitalization and treatment cover to residents of HP who are not covered under PM-JAY (Ayushman Bharat). HimCare fills the gap for families above the SECC threshold — including government employees, self-employed, and other residents who miss out on PMJAY.
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive ₹5 lakh cashless health insurance per year for non-Ayushman HP families. The scheme was launched in 2019 and is implemented by the Government of Himachal Pradesh.

Who is Eligible for HP HimCare Scheme?
- ✓ Permanent resident of Himachal Pradesh
- ✓ Not covered under PM-JAY (Ayushman Bharat) SECC list
- ✓ Any HP resident not already covered by state/central health insurance
- ✓ Government employees of HP (separate premium category)
- ✓ Self-employed, daily wage workers, non-BPL families
- ✓ Nominal annual premium: ₹365 (Category 1 — non-government) / ₹1,000 (Category 2 — government employees)
