What is HP Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana?
Himachal Pradesh Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana provides free pucca house construction to landless BPL homeless families in Himachal Pradesh who are NOT covered under PM Awas Yojana Gramin (PMAY-G). HP state extends housing benefits to remaining BPL families excluded from PMAY-G SECC list. Benefits: ₹1.5 lakh (plains) / ₹1.8 lakh (hilly/difficult areas) per unit — HP state funds additionally up to ₹50,000 over PMAY-G rate for hill terrain construction. Total beneficiary contribution near zero. Implemented through District Collectors, BDOs. Priority: Widows, divorcees, disabled, single parents, SC/ST landless families in HP.
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive Free pucca house ₹1.5-1.8L + HP state top-up ₹50K for homeless BPL HP families not in PMAY-G. The scheme was launched in 2022 and is implemented by the Government of Himachal Pradesh.
