What is HP MGNREGS Wage Employment?
Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) in Himachal Pradesh guarantees 100 days of wage employment per year to rural households at ₹290/day (HP notified wage rate 2025-26). Any adult member of a rural household willing to do unskilled manual work can demand employment. If work is not provided within 15 days of demand, the worker is entitled to an unemployment allowance. Works undertaken include water conservation, land development, rural connectivity, and flood control — especially relevant for HP's hilly terrain. About 8-10 lakh HP families benefit annually. महात्मा गांधी राष्ट्रीय ग्रामीण रोजगार गारंटी योजना (मनरेगा) हिमाचल प्रदेश के ग्रामीण परिवारों को प्रति वर्ष 100 दिन का गारंटीड रोजगार ₹290 प्रतिदिन की दर से देती है। यह योजना पहाड़ी क्षेत्रों में जल संरक्षण, भूमि विकास, सड़क निर्माण और बाढ़ नियंत्रण कार्यों में रोजगार देती है। Job Card बनवाने के बाद ग्राम पंचायत में काम की मांग की जा सकती है।
