What is HP Vidyarthi Protsahan Yojana?
Mukhyamantri Vidyarthi Protsahan Yojana (also referred to as the HP Mukhyamantri Higher Education Scholarship / Mahila Vidya Aagam component for girls) is Himachal Pradesh's flagship scholarship for meritorious students from poor families pursuing higher education. Provides ₹5,000-₹1.5 lakh per student based on course (UG ₹5,000-₹15,000/year, PG ₹15,000-₹25,000/year, professional/engineering/medical ₹50,000-₹1.5 lakh). Family income ≤ ₹2.5 lakh. The Mahila Vidya Aagam sub-component specifically gives a 50% additional weightage to GIRL students from HP and aims at increasing female participation in higher education. About 12,000 HP students benefit annually. Apply on the HP State Scholarship Portal (himachal.epass.cgg.gov.in / edu.himachal.gov.in) August-December.
