Distribution point: Ration shops (PDS shops) and designated collection centres across Telangana. Scale: Over 1.5 crore women beneficiaries annually. The scheme also supports Telangana's handloom weaver community — the government bulk-purchases sarees from TSCO (Telangana State Cooperative Textiles Federation) and district-level weaver cooperatives, providing livelihood to over 1 lakh weavers. It is meant to give a steady, dignified income to residents who carry a government-certified disability of 40 percent or more and whose annual family income stays below ₹1.5 lakh. Rather than vouchers or in-kind aid, the money lands directly in the beneficiary's Aadhaar-linked bank account through DBT, which keeps the payout transparent and cuts out middlemen. It spans the whole education ladder, from Class 1 right up to PhD, as long as the student is enrolled in a recognised institution. The welfare departments behind the scheme verify the student's caste and income credentials, then route the money to the student's own bank account, with the application moving step by step from institution check to district verification and finally a DBT credit.

Masons, helpers, electricians, plumbers and the many other hands that build Telangana's cities sit at the heart of this welfare scheme. The thread that ties it together is registration — a worker who has put in at least 90 days of construction work in the last year and is not covered by ESIC or EPF can enrol with the Board and unlock these benefits, with assistance amounts paid into the worker's bank account once a claim is verified.
