What is Rythu Bima Telangana?
Telangana Rythu Bima is a free life insurance scheme for landowner farmers in Telangana aged 18 to 59 years. In case of farmer's death (natural or accidental), the family receives ₹5 lakh as insurance benefit. The premium of ₹2,500/year per farmer is fully paid by the Government of Telangana. Over 38 lakh farmers are covered.
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive ₹5 lakh life insurance for farmer's family on death — premium 100% paid by government. The scheme was launched in 2018 and is implemented by the Government of Telangana.
