What is TN Free Laptop Scheme?
Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister Free Laptop Scheme (restarted under CM Stalin's DMK government) provides free laptops to government and government-aided school students in Class 11, Class 12, and first-year college students. Over 20 lakh laptops distributed since 2011 (AIADMK era) and the scheme continues. Class 11-12 students in government schools get laptops at the start of academic year. Laptops come pre-loaded with educational software and internet connectivity support.
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive Free laptop for government school Class 11-12 and first-year college students in Tamil Nadu. The scheme was launched in 2011 and is implemented by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
