What is Ennum Ezhuthum TN?
Ennum Ezhuthum (Numeracy and Literacy Mission) is Tamil Nadu's programme to ensure all Class 1-3 students in government schools achieve foundational literacy and numeracy. As part of this mission, free tablets are distributed to Class 6-8 students. The mission employs Activity-Based Learning (ABL) methods. Over 40 lakh students in TN government schools benefit annually from this foundational education initiative.
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive Free tablet for Class 6-8 students + foundational literacy/numeracy programme for Class 1-3. The scheme was launched in 2021 and is implemented by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
