What is Magalir Urimai Thogai?
Tamil Nadu government's Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai scheme provides Rs.1,000 per month directly to the bank accounts of the female head of each eligible family via DBT. Launched in September 2023, over 1 crore women across Tamil Nadu receive this benefit. The scheme aims to promote financial autonomy and economic empowerment of women across all districts.
