What is Ashraya Yojana Karnataka (Rajiv Gandhi Housing)?

Ashraya Yojana (officially Rajiv Gandhi Rural Housing Corporation Karnataka — RGRHCL) is Karnataka Government's flagship housing scheme providing free pucca houses to houseless BPL (Below Poverty Line) families in rural and urban areas. Eligible families receive 2-room houses (approximately 325 sq ft) along with toilet (SBM linked), electricity connection, and basic amenities. The scheme works in convergence with PM Awas Yojana — Gramin and Urban. The state government contributes additionally over and above PMAY. Priority is given to SC/ST families, single women, differently-abled, and landless families. Over 40 lakh houses constructed since inception.
