What is Yeshasvini Health Insurance?
Yeshasvini Cooperative Farmers Health Care Scheme is Karnataka's pioneering health insurance scheme specifically for members of cooperative societies — particularly farmers. Launched on 1 June 2003 and reintroduced in 2023, it provides cashless surgical treatment up to ₹5 lakh per beneficiary per year at 1,500+ network hospitals across Karnataka. The scheme covers 1,650+ surgeries including cardiology, oncology, neurosurgery, orthopaedic, gynaecology, urology, and trauma. Membership is voluntary — annual contribution of ₹500 per individual or ₹1,500 per family (4 members). Special concession of ₹250 for SC/ST farmers. The scheme is administered by Yeshasvini Cooperative Farmers Health Care Trust under the Department of Cooperation, Karnataka. Implementation through DCC Banks, Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS), and Cooperative Marketing Societies — making it one of the largest cooperative health insurance schemes in Asia with 50+ lakh members.
