What is Rupashree Prakalpa West Bengal?
Rupashree Prakalpa is West Bengal government's one-time financial assistance scheme of ₹25,000 for adult girls (18+) from economically weaker families at the time of marriage. The amount is paid directly to the girl's bank account before marriage. Annual family income must be below ₹1.5 lakh. Over 7 lakh girls have benefited since launch.
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive ₹25,000 one-time grant directly to girl's bank account at time of marriage. The scheme was launched in 2018 and is implemented by the Government of West Bengal.
