What is Kanyashree Prakalpa?
Kanyashree Prakalpa is West Bengal government's award-winning girl child welfare scheme providing K1 annual scholarship of ₹1,000 to girls aged 13–18 in Classes 8–12, and K2 one-time grant of ₹25,000 to unmarried girls aged 18+ continuing education. The scheme has won the UN Public Service Award.
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive K1: ₹1,000/year (age 13–18) + K2: ₹25,000 one-time (age 18+, unmarried). The scheme was launched in 2013 and is implemented by the Government of West Bengal.
