What is WB Nischay SHG Women Loan?
Nischay (Certainty) is West Bengal's Self-Help Group (SHG) credit linkage scheme under the West Bengal Finance & Development Corporation. Women SHG members get access to ₹2 lakh group loans at 7% interest (below market rate) for livelihood income-generating activities — handicraft, food processing, tailoring, poultry, fish farming, horticulture, petty trade. Banks (SBI, UCO, UBI, Bandhan Bank) lend to SHGs under WB government guarantee. Additionally, NABARD's WB SHG-Bank Linkage provides up to ₹10 lakh for mature SHGs. SRLM (State Rural Livelihood Mission) in West Bengal, branded as Anandadhara, manages SHG formation and bank linkage in rural WB.
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive ₹2 lakh SHG group loan at 7% interest + up to ₹10 lakh for mature SHGs — income-generating activities — WB rural women. The scheme was launched in 2005 and is implemented by the Government of West Bengal.
