What is PM JANMAN Tribal Welfare?

PM Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) Development Mission — PM JANMAN — was launched by PM Modi on November 15, 2023 (Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas). It targets 75 Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) across 18 states with Rs 24,104 crore outlay to cover 4.90 lakh households. The scheme integrates 11 critical interventions including housing (PMAY-G), road connectivity (PMGSY), telecom, piped water (Jal Jeevan Mission), and health (PM-JAY) specifically for PVTGs.

Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive 11 convergent services: housing, roads, water, health, education, electricity, mobile connectivity, Aadhaar enrolment, and livelihood support for PVTG families. The scheme was launched in 2023 and is implemented by the Government of India.
