National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) promotes apprenticeship training by sharing 25% of the prescribed stipend (up to ₹1,500/month) with employers who engage apprentices. Who is Eligible for NAPS Apprenticeship Scheme?
- ✓For APPRENTICE: Any Indian citizen with relevant educational qualification for the trade
- ✓Minimum qualification: Class 8 pass (for basic trades) to degree/diploma (for graduate apprenticeship)
- ✓Age: No upper limit (minimum age as per trade)
- ✓For EMPLOYER: Any establishment with 30+ employees must compulsorily engage apprentices (Apprentices Act)
- ✓Establishments with 4+ employees can voluntarily engage apprentices
