What is Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana?
Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana (RVY) provides free assisted-living devices (walking sticks, elbow crutches, wheelchairs, hearing aids, spectacles, dentures) to BPL senior citizens aged 60+ years who suffer from age-related disabilities. Devices are distributed at special camps organized by ALIMCO in camps at the district level. 100% funded by Central Government from Senior Citizens Welfare Fund.
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive Free walking stick, wheelchair, hearing aid, spectacles, dentures for BPL senior citizens aged 60+. The scheme was launched in 2017 and is implemented by the Government of India.
