What is Mizoram State Health Care Scheme?
Mizoram State Health Care Scheme (MHCS) is the state's health insurance programme for families NOT covered under AB-PMJAY (Ayushman Bharat), particularly the lower-middle-class and non-BPL Mizo families. MHCS provides cashless hospitalisation up to ₹4 lakh per family per year at empanelled government and private hospitals in Mizoram and referral hospitals in Kolkata, Guwahati, and Vellore. Over 1.5 lakh families are covered. The scheme is administered by the Health & Family Welfare Department, Mizoram.
