What is Mizoram Social Welfare Pension?
The Mizoram Social Welfare Pension pays ₹1,200 a month to three groups under the National Social Assistance Programme: senior citizens aged 60 and above, widows aged 40 and above, and persons with 40% or more certified disability. It is the state implementation of the central IGNOAPS, IGNWPS and IGNDPS pensions with a Mizoram top-up added, which is why the amount is above the bare central rate. A valid Inner Line Permit is mandatory and annual family income must be below ₹2 lakh. Applications are made at the District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) office, and forms can also be collected from the nearest Anganwadi centre or BDO office — useful in the hill districts where the DSWO office is a long journey. The pension is credited by DBT directly into the Aadhaar-linked bank account, and you cannot hold it alongside another government pension.

Who is Eligible for Mizoram Social Welfare Pension?
- ✓ Permanent resident of Mizoram — Inner Line Permit (ILP) mandatory
- ✓ Old-age pension: aged 60 or above, from a BPL or low-income family (income under ₹2 lakh)
