What is Mizoram Horticulture Support Scheme?
Mizoram Horticulture Support Scheme under the National Horticulture Mission (NHM) provides 50% subsidy to farmers for cultivating high-value horticultural crops including passion fruit, ginger, turmeric, and anthurium flowers. Mizoram's hilly terrain and climate are ideal for these crops. The scheme includes subsidized planting material, training in good agricultural practices, post-harvest management, and export linkage through APEDA (Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority). Farmers are also linked to organic certification to access premium export markets.
