What is Snehapoorvam Scholarship Kerala?
Snehapoorvam is Kerala Government's compassionate scholarship scheme providing monthly financial support to children who have lost one or both parents (orphans and semi-orphans) and are studying in Classes 1-12 or in professional/degree courses. Launched by the Social Welfare Department, Snehapoorvam provides ₹300/month for Class 1-7 students, ₹500/month for Class 8-10, ₹750/month for Class 11-12, and ₹1,000/month for degree/professional course students. The scheme ensures that the loss of a parent does not force children to drop out of school. Over 1 lakh children benefit annually across Kerala's 14 districts.
