What is Kerala Nirbhaya Women Safety?
Kerala's Nirbhaya scheme (central + state convergence) provides comprehensive support to women in distress — survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, trafficking, and abandonment. Services: (1) One Stop Centre (OSC) in every district — medical aid, police assistance, legal aid, psycho-social counselling, shelter all under one roof; (2) Ujjawala shelter homes for trafficked women; (3) SwaDhar Greh shelter for destitute women; (4) State helpline 181 (24×7 Vanitha Helpline); (5) POCSO e-box for children. Free services — no income limit. WCD Kerala and Social Justice Dept implement jointly. 14 OSCs operational in all districts.
