What is LIFE Mission Kerala Housing?

LIFE (Livelihood Inclusion and Financial Empowerment) Mission is Kerala's flagship housing scheme launched in 2017 to provide free houses to homeless and landless families. Target: 3.5 lakh houses over 5 years. Beneficiaries include SC/ST families, coastal communities, tribal groups, and general poor who are landless or houseless. The house area is minimum 375 sq ft with basic facilities. Construction is managed by Local Self-Government Institutions (LSGIs) — Panchayats and Municipalities. No cost to beneficiary.

Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive Free fully constructed house (minimum 375 sq ft) with basic amenities — no cost to beneficiary. The scheme was launched in 2017 and is implemented by the Government of Kerala.
