What is Kerala Karunya Scheme?
Kerala Karunya Health Protection Scheme provides cashless health insurance coverage up to ₹5 lakh per year for BPL and APL families in Kerala for treatment at government and empanelled private hospitals. The scheme covers 550+ medical procedures including heart surgery, cancer treatment, kidney transplant, and orthopedic procedures.
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive ₹5 lakh/year cashless health insurance — 550+ procedures at govt/empanelled hospitals. The scheme was launched in 2012 and is implemented by the Government of Kerala.
