What is Bihar Jal Jeevan Mission?
Bihar Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) is the state implementation of the national Har Ghar Nal Ka Jal programme, aiming to provide functional piped tap water connections to every rural household in Bihar by 2024. SC/ST households and BPL families receive free connections; other households may pay a nominal one-time contribution. As of 2025, over 86% of rural households in Bihar have been covered. The scheme is funded jointly by the central government and the Bihar state government. Implementation is by the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Bihar. Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive Functional piped tap water connection to every rural household; SC/ST/BPL: Free; Others: nominal contribution. The scheme was launched in 2019 and is implemented by the Government of Bihar.

बिहार जल जीवन मिशन का लक्ष्य 2024 तक बिहार के हर ग्रामीण घर में पाइप से शुद्ध पेयजल पहुँचाना है। SC/ST और BPL परिवारों को यह कनेक्शन बिल्कुल मुफ्त दिया जाता है। इस मिशन को PHED (Public Health Engineering Department) बिहार लागू कर रही है और 2025 तक बिहार के 86% से अधिक ग्रामीण घरों में नल कनेक्शन पहुँचाया जा चुका है। यदि आपके गाँव में अभी तक नल का पानी नहीं पहुँचा है तो ग्राम पंचायत के माध्यम से PHED को सूचित करें।
