What is Bihar e-Kalyan Scholarship?
Bihar e-Kalyan Scholarship Portal (ekalyan.bih.nic.in) is the Bihar government's unified online portal for Post-Matric scholarships for BC (Backward Class), EBC (Extremely Backward Class), SC (Scheduled Caste), ST (Scheduled Tribe), and Minority students from Class 11 to PhD. Provides full tuition fee reimbursement + maintenance allowance + non-refundable fee + study tour + book bank — ranging from ₹2,000 to ₹25,000+ per student per year depending on course (Engineering/Medical higher; arts/commerce lower). Around 15 lakh+ students from Bihar benefit annually. Run by the Bihar Department of Backward Classes & EBC Welfare, SC/ST Welfare Department, and Minority Welfare Department.
