What is MGNREGA Meghalaya Wage Employment?
Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) guarantees 100 days of wage employment per year at ₹316 per day (Meghalaya rate) to every rural household whose adult members are willing to do unskilled manual work. In Meghalaya, MGNREGA covers water conservation, land development, rural roads, plantation, and allied agriculture works. Job cards are issued free of cost at the Gram Panchayat / Village Council level. Payment is made directly to the worker's bank or post office account within 15 days.
