What is Meghalaya CM Youth Vocational Training?
The Chief Minister's Vocational Training Scheme in Meghalaya provides free skill training to unemployed youth in various trades — IT, hospitality, construction, healthcare, retail, agriculture, and handicrafts — along with a monthly stipend of ₹3,000 during the training period. The scheme is implemented through ITIs, polytechnics, and empanelled skill training centres across Meghalaya. Special focus on Khasi, Jaintia, and Garo tribal youth in rural and semi-urban areas. Upon completion, placement assistance is provided to help trainees secure employment or start micro-enterprises.
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive Free vocational skill training + ₹3,000/month stipend during training + placement assistance for Meghalaya youth. The scheme was launched in 2018 and is implemented by the Government of Meghalaya.
