What is Krishi Sanjivani (POCRA)?

Nanaji Deshmukh Krishi Sanjivani Yojana, widely known as POCRA (Project on Climate Resilient Agriculture), is a World Bank-assisted programme implemented by the Maharashtra Agriculture Department to help farmers in rain-stressed regions cope with climate change. It covers more than 5,142 villages across 16 drought-prone districts including Amravati, Akola, Washim, Buldhana, Yavatmal, Nanded, Hingoli, Parbhani, Jalna, Aurangabad, Osmanabad, Latur, Solapur, Satara, Beed, and Nashik. Through over 25 interventions, the scheme offers 75–100% subsidy on drip and sprinkler irrigation, fruit-tree plantation, soil-health measures, farm ponds, water conservation, agro-met advisory, and livelihood activities like goat rearing for landless labourers.
