What is PMSSS J&K Scholarship?
Prime Minister's Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) is a Government of India scheme launched in 2011 (revamped 2018) specifically for students from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh (UT) pursuing higher education OUTSIDE J&K/Ladakh in mainland India. Administered by AICTE under the Ministry of Education. Up to 5,000 fresh scholarships every year. Three components: (1) Academic Fee Reimbursement: ₹30,000-₹1.25 lakh/year for General Degree; ₹1.25-₹2 lakh/year for Engineering; ₹3 lakh/year for Medical; (2) Maintenance Allowance: ₹1 lakh/year (₹10,000/month) covering hostel, books, transport; (3) Incidental Allowance for academic activities.
