What is J&K Horticulture Technology Mission?
J&K Horticulture Technology Mission (JKHTM) is J&K's flagship programme for modernising the ₹10,000+ crore J&K horticulture sector — apple, walnut, cherry, pear, saffron, almonds. Benefits: (1) Free or 50-75% subsidised improved apple/walnut/cherry saplings (Delicious, Royal Gala varieties); (2) Anti-hail net subsidy 50-75% (₹2-4 lakh per hectare); (3) Cold storage technology upgrade subsidy 40-50%; (4) Crate + packaging subsidy for better market access; (5) Direct marketing support via JKAFPD (Agri-export zones, MANDI reforms); (6) Apple/Walnut Crop Insurance (PMFBY + JKHTM state component). - ✓ J&K domicile holder owning or cultivating orchard/agricultural land in J&K
- ✓ Existing apple/walnut/cherry/saffron farmer OR willing to convert to horticulture
- ✓ Minimum 0.1 hectare land suitable for horticulture
