What is Arunachal Women SHG Empowerment?
Arunachal Pradesh Women SHG Empowerment under DAY-NRLM and the state's Mahila Shakti Kendra programme provides micro-enterprise loans of ₹50,000 to ₹2 lakh to women SHG members. Key SHG enterprises in Arunachal: traditional weavings (Adi, Apatani, Nyishi textiles), bamboo and cane handicrafts, eco-tourism homestays, organic vegetable farming, poultry, and piggery. Over 80,000 women in 8,000+ SHGs are active across Arunachal's 25 districts. Women from tribal communities including Adi, Apatani, Nyishi, Galo, Monpa get priority.
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive ₹50,000–₹2 lakh SHG micro-enterprise loan + skill training + market linkage for Arunachal tribal women. The scheme was launched in 2013 and is implemented by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh.
