What is Arunachal Tribal Welfare Development?
Arunachal Pradesh Tribal Welfare Development Fund supports the 26 major APST (Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe) communities — including Adi, Nyishi, Apatani, Galo, Monpa, Tangsa, Wancho, Nocte, and others — through integrated interventions covering livelihood development, education support, infrastructure in tribal villages, and cultural preservation. The fund covers skill development grants, micro-enterprise support, traditional craft promotion, construction of community halls in tribal villages, and scholarships for higher education. The Tribal Welfare Department coordinates with District Councils and Village Councils for implementation. APST certificate and PRC are mandatory for all benefits.
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive Livelihood grants, education scholarships, infrastructure, and cultural support for 26 APST tribal communities in Arunachal Pradesh. The scheme was launched in 2010 and is implemented by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh.
