What is Arunachal Weaver Handloom Scheme?
Arunachal Pradesh Handloom and Handicrafts Development Scheme supports traditional tribal weavers — particularly Adi, Apatani, and Nyishi communities — with free looms, yarn subsidies, design training, and market linkage support. The scheme preserves indigenous Arunachal textile traditions including Adi gale (blanket), Apatani traditional textiles, Nyishi weaving, and Monpa woolen crafts. Under the National Handloom Development Programme (NHDP) and the Hast Shilp Vikas Yojana, weavers receive: free frame loom, 50% subsidy on yarn, training in design improvement and quality, participation in state emporiums and national craft fairs, and support for GI (Geographical Indication) tagging. APST certificate and PRC mandatory for all benefits.

Arunachal Pradesh Handloom Development Scheme supports Adi, Apatani, Nyishi, Monpa, and other APST tribal weavers with free frame looms, 50% yarn subsidy, design training, and market linkage through state emporiums and national craft fairs. Both PRC (Permanent Residence Certificate) and APST certificate are mandatory. Priority is given to women tribal weavers and SHG-based weaving groups.
