What is Arunachal Horticulture Mission Orchard Subsidy?
The Arunachal Pradesh Horticulture Mission, implemented under Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH), provides 50% capital subsidy to APST tribal farmers for establishing apple, kiwi, citrus, passion fruit, and large cardamom orchards. The mission covers planting material, drip irrigation, fencing, post-harvest cold storage units, and primary processing infrastructure. Arunachal Pradesh's diverse agro-climatic zones — from subtropical valleys to alpine highlands — support a wide variety of horticultural crops. The scheme also funds Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) for collective marketing of horticultural produce. Hill area tribal farmers get priority with higher subsidy rates. Technical support is provided by Horticulture Development Officers (HDOs) at the block level.
