What is UK Horticulture Mission / Bagwani Yojana?
Uttarakhand Horticulture Mission (Vriksh Sampada) provides 50% subsidy on fruit plant saplings (apple, pear, peach, walnut, litchi, mango, citrus), 50-85% subsidy on polyhouse/shade net structures, drip irrigation, and post-harvest equipment for farmers in Uttarakhand. The mission aims to convert hill farmers from subsistence farming to commercial horticulture. Administered by Horticulture Department Uttarakhand (horticulture.uk.gov.in). Around 1 lakh farmers benefit annually.
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive 50% subsidy on fruit saplings + 50-85% on polyhouse/drip irrigation for Uttarakhand farmers. The scheme was launched in 2014 and is implemented by the Government of Uttarakhand.
