What is UK PMFBY Crop Insurance?
Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) in Uttarakhand provides crop insurance at just 1.5% premium (Kharif) and 2% (Rabi) of sum insured for farmers. State and central government pay the remaining premium. Covers crop losses due to drought, flood, landslide, hailstorm, unseasonal rain, pest, and disease. Sum insured ranges from ₹25,000 to ₹1 lakh per hectare depending on crop. Around 3 lakh Uttarakhand farmers enrolled. KCC loan holders are automatically enrolled; non-loanee farmers can voluntarily enroll via pmfby.gov.in or Common Service Centres (CSCs).
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive Crop loss insurance at 1.5-2% premium — ₹25,000 to ₹1 lakh/hectare sum insured for Uttarakhand farmers. The scheme was launched in 2016 and is implemented by the Government of Uttarakhand.
