What is UK Parvat Mala Ropeway Scheme?
Parvat Mala is the central government's national ropeway development programme implemented in Uttarakhand to connect remote mountain villages with markets, schools, hospitals, and administrative centres. Ropeways reduce travel time from several hours on foot to minutes, serving daily commuters, pilgrims on Char Dham routes (Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, Yamunotri), and tourists on adventure/eco-tourism circuits. Corridors in Uttarakhand include Garhwal and Kumaon hill areas. Jointly funded by Centre and State.
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive Ropeway connectivity to remote Uttarakhand mountain villages — reduces travel from hours to minutes; serves pilgrimage + tourism + daily commute. The scheme was launched in 2022 and is implemented by the Government of Uttarakhand.
पर्वत माला रोपवे परियोजना उत्तराखंड के दुर्गम पहाड़ी गाँवों, चार धाम तीर्थ मार्गों और पर्यटन क्षेत्रों में रोपवे के माध्यम से कनेक्टिविटी प्रदान करती है। घंटों की पैदल यात्रा को मिनटों में करने योग्य बनाकर ग्रामीणों, तीर्थयात्रियों और पर्यटकों सभी को लाभ मिलता है। केदारनाथ, बद्रीनाथ, गंगोत्री, यमुनोत्री के आसपास के क्षेत्रों में प्राथमिकता।
