What is Punjab Mukhyamantri Shehri Awas Yojana?
Punjab Mukhyamantri Shehri Awas Yojana provides affordable housing to the urban poor in Punjab cities under the EWS (Economically Weaker Section) and LIG (Low Income Group) categories. The scheme is linked to PMAY-U (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Urban) and provides low-cost flats and housing units in planned townships in Chandigarh periphery, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Patiala, and other Punjab cities. Beneficiaries receive central PMAY-U subsidy plus Punjab state top-up to make housing affordable. Applications are routed through Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), Municipal Corporations, and Housing Board Punjab.
