About this employment scheme
Goa Tourism Homestay Scheme helps Goa residents set up registered homestay or Bed & Breakfast (B&B) tourism units by providing ₹1–₹2 lakh interest-free loan and registration support. Goa is India's top tourism destination and the government actively promotes community-based tourism through homestay units. The scheme is administered by the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) and Goa Tourism Department. Registered homestays get tourism department support, listing on official portals, and marketing assistance. Goa has around 2,000+ registered homestays and the scheme targets expansion to 5,000 units.

Registration process
- 1Visit goatourism.gov.in or Goa Tourism Department office, Panaji
- 2Download and fill Homestay Registration application form
- 3Submit Aadhaar, domicile, property documents, police clearance, house layout, and photos
- 4Tourism Department inspector visits and inspects the property for compliance with homestay norms
- 5Property classified — Silver / Gold / Diamond category based on facilities
- 6For interest-free loan: apply separately at GTDC — submit project cost estimate and bank account details
- 7Registered homestay gets listed on goatourism.gov.in and receives marketing support
