What is Goa Ladli Laxmi Yojana?
Goa Ladli Laxmi Yojana provides a ₹1 lakh Fixed Deposit (FD) in the name of every girl child born in Goa, payable at the age of 18 years. The scheme aims to promote girl child education, reduce female foeticide, and ensure financial security for girls at adulthood. The FD is registered in the girl's name and matures when she turns 18, provided she has completed her schooling. The application must be submitted within one year of the girl's birth.
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive ₹1 lakh Fixed Deposit in the girl's name at birth — payable at age 18 on completion of schooling. The scheme was launched in 2012 and is implemented by the Government of Goa.
