What is Goa MGNREGS Wage Employment?
Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) in Goa guarantees 100 days of wage employment per financial year to rural households. Goa has one of the highest MGNREGS daily wage rates in India at ₹375 per day (2025-26 revision). Any adult member of a rural household willing to do unskilled manual work can apply for a Job Card at the local Gram Panchayat. Work must be provided within 15 days of demand — failing which, unemployment allowance is payable. Work includes road construction, water conservation, plantation, drainage, rural housing support, etc.
