What is Arundhati Gold Scheme Assam?
Arundhati Gold Scheme is Assam Government's flagship scheme launched by CM Sarbananda Sonowal in 2019 to provide 10 grams of gold (₹33,000+ current market value) to brides at the time of their marriage. The scheme applies to all permanent residents of Assam who register their marriage — it is not limited to BPL families. The gold is deposited in the bride's bank account in the form of e-gold (monetary equivalent). The scheme is linked with the mandatory Assam Compulsory Registration of Marriages Act, encouraging families to formally register their marriages. Over 2 lakh brides have received the benefit. The scheme has helped reduce the financial burden of marriage on families and also serves as an asset for the new couple.
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive 10 grams of gold equivalent (₹33,000+ current value) credited to bride's bank account — at time of marriage registration — for all Assam residents. The scheme was launched in 2019 and is implemented by the Government of Assam.

- ✓ Assam permanent resident — bride must be Assam domicile
- ✓ Both bride and groom must register their marriage under Assam Compulsory Registration of Marriages Act

- ✓ Groom's age must be 21 years or above
- ✓ No income limit — applies to all Assam residents (not limited to BPL)
