What is Sikkim Post-Matric Scholarship ST/SC?
Sikkim Post-Matric Scholarship for Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Scheduled Caste (SC) students provides ₹8,000 to ₹15,000 per year for students pursuing Class 11, Class 12, diploma, graduation, and postgraduate courses. Priority is given to Bhutia, Lepcha, and Limboo-Tamang communities — Sikkim's recognized indigenous tribal communities. The scholarship covers maintenance allowance, study tour, thesis/dissertation charges. Implemented by Social Justice & Empowerment Department, Sikkim, with funds from the Ministry of Social Justice (for SC) and Ministry of Tribal Affairs (for ST).
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive ₹8,000–₹15,000/year post-matric scholarship for ST/SC students (Bhutia, Lepcha, Limboo-Tamang communities). The scheme was launched in 2008 and is implemented by the Government of Sikkim.
